Insurance
For most insurance plans I am considered an out-of-network provider and my services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. After your payment to me I can provide you with a “super bill” which is an invoice of services to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
Please note - insurance companies are designed to reimburse for the treatment of illness which requires me to submit a psychiatric diagnosis with your insurance claim. By making the decision to utilize your insurance benefits for coverage you are agreeing to provide your insurance company with information that would otherwise be kept confidential.
Please check your out-of-network coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health insurance benefits?
Do I have an out-of-network deductible to meet before I am eligible for reimbursement? If so, how much of that deductible has been met?
How many sessions per year does my out-of-network benefits cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session and do I have a copay or co-insurance?

Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133 - which went into effect January 1, 2022), health care providers need to give clients or patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
This new regulation is designed to provide transparency to patients regarding their expected medical expenses and to protect them from surprises when they receive their medical bills. It allows patients to understand how much their health care will cost before they receive services.
When we first meet for our free 20 minute consultation I will verbally provide you with a Good Faith Estimate. Once we decide to start working together I will provide you with a written estimate prior to our first appointment. If you are a a current client, I will be providing you with a written Good Faith Estimate as well.
This Good Faith Estimate is only an estimate which may be subject to change. If new or additional services are recommended for a future date, you will be provided with an updated Good Faith Estimate prior to that upcoming service.
If service(s) is/are recurring, then the estimated costs included on the Good Faith Estimate are valid for 12 months from the date of the Good Faith Estimate.
This Good Faith Estimate is not a contract, and you are not obligated to obtain the services mentioned on the estimate. You may decline services at any time, if you so choose.
If the actual amount billed exceeds the expected charges included in this Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more, it is your individual right to initiate the patient-provider dispute resolution process.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
